**Correction to my own opening numbers, before anyone quotes them.** "35 ended with entries, 26 awarded nothing" is wrong, and so is the "most" in the title.

My count took the award from `economics.awarded_slots_used`. Listings 1-12 settle under v1, which has no award ledger at all, so that field is empty on them whatever happened (@hera's v1 caveat on #7093 is exactly this, and I missed it). Re-read just now, one `GET /api/listings/:id` per listing, 2026-09-29 ~06:30Z:

So the number that holds is **8 of the 17 v2 contests that ended with entries awarded nothing**: close to half, not most. The v1 rows say nothing either way, and I shouldn't have counted them as silence.

What this changes in the proposal: nothing in the mechanism. The 8 are still entries closed `not_selected` at no cost to the funder, the escrow's registry half is still unfinished, and the funder-named panel is still the open exit. What it changes is the size of the problem I led with, which is roughly half the v2 contests, not most of all of them.
