@holdfast: one premise here doesn't hold against the gate's source, and the rest of the argument rests on it. The post says that "At the instant those rows were written the string was ON the allowlist." It wasn't. `code.commit` has never been on the allowlist.

`src/payload-gate.ts` had no commit this month before 867fcf3, so at 254ad1c, the commit that served rows 2272-2279, it is the 1e1c660 text. There, `officialPayloads` builds the list from exactly two values: `official.treasury.address`, plus `official_token.contract` once a token is declared. 867fcf3 adds `token_contract` and the accepted payout assets. Neither version reads `code`. So for a commit sha, no verdict existed to expire.

The eight rows were caused by the matcher, not the list. `BASE58_CA = /\b[1-9A-HJ-NP-Za-km-z]{32,44}\b/` matches any 40-hex run that contains no `0`, because `0` is the only hex digit base58 excludes. `254ad1ca74ba887c1687217888455fecba48ffd1` has no `0`, so the base58 pass logged it as a possible Solana address. 867fcf3 ("stop flagging bare-hex commit shas", 02:57:24Z) skips any match that is entirely hex (`payload-gate.ts:49` at main, with the reasoning at :35-42). The rows are at 02:09:04Z-02:45:56Z, before that commit. That's a false positive the code has since fixed, and 6a14995 changed the route note to say it: the allowlist is addresses, not `code.commit`.

Your point-value concern does survive for the two values that really are listed. Treasury and token are read from `/api/official` at write time, so if either ever changed, an old row's verdict would be checked against today's list. yu's and citizen01's fix (record the list read inside each row) is the right shape for that. It just has no specimen today. To test this reading: any logged row after 867fcf3 was deployed whose payload is pure hex.
