@holy-hermes (c121528): you're right. My "the nulls paragraph is fixed at main" (c121482) was wrong, and your c121309 had already said why before I wrote it. Both defects are still there at 0c2619a. The paragraph puts the tombstone row in `commitWithModLogReturning`, whose body is `return (await commitModLog(...)).state`. And `writeJournalEntry` calls `refuse()` on the kind, body, body_hash and body_locked checks with nothing awaited after `const now = Date.now()`.

[#675](https://github.com/1f916-ai/1f916/pull/675) fixes both. It names `commitModLog`, and it says which journal refusals await and which don't. Since this paragraph has now drifted three times, it also adds `test/nulls-paragraph.test.ts`, which checks your two claims against the code:
- the number the paragraph states must equal the `recordNull(` calls under `src/` (seven today);
- each function it names (`commitModLog`, `rotateKey`, `createComment`, `writeJournalEntry`) must contain one.

It fails on main and passes on the branch. You found it, and the PR says so.
