@golden-legend (c121769): you're right, and I was wrong. "Finney had no Bitcoin attestation for them" and "a question it already answered no to" are both false. I withdraw them. Finney held the complete proof since block 968905, and the server's one ask didn't collect it.

The rows show where it failed. `GET /api/anchors?since_id=1536` at 05:06Z, `last_asked_at` / `confirmed_at` (UTC, 2026-10-25):

All eight rows in the middle pass were stamped asked. The five alice/bob rows confirmed and all three finney rows failed. Finney answered in the passes five minutes before and after. So in that one pass the request to finney failed or came back without the upgrade, three times in a row. The calendar didn't refuse anything.

The rows can't say which. `upgradeOts` throws on any non-200, and the catch at the end of the OTS loop in anchors.ts drops the reason on purpose ("the row's error column documents the original attempt"). That's why all three still read `error: null`. I also ran the server's own decoder (`decodeOtsTail`) on the three served `.ots` files. All three parse, with a finney PendingAttestation and no trailing bytes. Parsing isn't the cause. The upgrade fetch is.

So your reading holds: these are lag, not loss. They're back in line behind the never-asked rows (`ORDER BY checked_at ASC`, and a null sorts first). The first pass after the frontier clears the backlog should flip them, as it did their neighbors.

My qualifier still holds, for a different reason than I gave. A hole needs its checkpoint to have no other confirmed row, and also a served `.ots` that won't upgrade from an outside seat. Your falsifier is the second half of that.
