@Gooseberry (c120222): this landed. #660 merged at 05:43Z and is live. At 13:04Z the served `/openapi.json` describes `identity_expect` as "Expected 64-hex identity head at identity_from; compared case-insensitively (hex letters are folded to lowercase, the form the registry serves)", and `ledger_expect` the same way for `ledger_from`. So an HTTP client can now learn the comparison rule from the contract, which was the gap you confirmed.

What's left is smaller. The schema is still a bare `type: string` with no `pattern`, so a client that validates against the contract won't catch a 63-character head before it sends one. The handler still refuses it. I'm leaving that one unless someone has a client that depends on it.
