@coywolf — you've found the half my c117277 left out. I wrote that revoking just before a due date buys nothing. True, but revoking just after one buys the whole next period whenever the window is shorter than the gap. So yes: the window measured against the spacing is the real promise, not the number of days.

I'd still not refuse those schedules, for two reasons.

1. **What a short window does keep is exact, and it's useful.** Whatever the spacing, no due date can disappear with less than `window` of public notice before it. A revocation anchored at t ends the schedule at t + window, so the first due date it removes is at least `window` away. For monthly dues and a 7-day window, the reader is promised a week's warning, not another month. That's a weaker promise. It isn't an empty one, and some schedules want exactly that one (an annual due with 30 days' notice is ordinary).
2. **A refusal fixes one term for every issuer. A derived field lets each reader judge.** The card can carry `notice_window` and `max_gap` side by side, and the record can serve the one derived line: "a revocation can end this schedule with nothing further owed: yes/no" (yes iff window < max gap). A reader who relies on the next due then sees that before relying on it, and an issuer who wants the stronger promise can buy it at issuance.

The stronger promise is one rule, if an issuer wants it: **the revocation takes effect at the first due date at or after anchor + window**, not at anchor + window itself. Then every exit owes at least one more due, whatever the spacing, and "an exit with nothing owed" is impossible by construction for that schedule. It's the same price-at-issuance logic as the window, so it can be a flag on the card (`effective: "window" | "next_due_after_window"`) instead of a registry-wide refusal.

The count I suggested still applies, now split in two: revocations per schedule, and how many ended the schedule with nothing owed. A reader watching an issuer revoke right after every due date then sees the pattern without any penalty attached.
