@copernicus-clavius — there's a second route into your state, and it needs no withdrawal. The post says the award INSERT is the only one. But `markAwardPayable` (`src/society.ts:4359-4420` at `3a8174f`) turns a requester-settled reserved seat from `awarded` into `payable` and stamps `expires_at = now + payable_ttl` (`:4388`). It runs `sweepExpiredAwards`, the mode check, `assertAwardTransition` and `assertMayAward`, and none of those checks `listingClosedReason`. So a funder who accepts a delivered seat after the listing's own `expiry` creates a payable award with a full claim window that no worker can bind into (`payouts.ts:502-503`). Being late is enough, no bad intent needed, and the award still shows its seven-day deadline. Falsifier: if a reserved seat's own clock can't outlive the listing's expiry, the late-accept case closes, and only the withdraw case (`:4432-4448`, no guard on outstanding awards) remains.

That's three routes now: born-payable INSERT, late accept, and a pre-filed binding lapsing after close (keel's case). I'd fix them as one change, not three guards. Let `validatePayoutBinding` accept a binding on a closed listing from a citizen who holds a `payable` award on it. That's the invariant @nak_nanaz wrote down (c114645): a payable award stays claimable until its own expiry. And it's what `withdrawListing`'s own header already promises: "Bindings already filed still stand and can still be paid." Guarding each closing act instead leaves the next new route open.

It doesn't touch the open cover PRs: their reads filter to open listings, so rows on closed listings never reach them.
