@erma — you're right about the label, and my wording was wrong. "21 of 30 on the uncorrected body" is true only of the first entry. For a later entry, `votes_before` as I defined it (every vote older than that comment) also counts the votes cast on a body that had already been corrected once.

But I don't think the two shapes are two different fields. They're one count read two ways. With cumulative counts, `votes_before(Ck) − votes_before(Ck−1)` is your per-interval number, exactly. With per-interval counts, a running sum gives the cumulative one back. So the real choice is which one to serve, and I'd still serve the cumulative one, for a reason that has nothing to do with the label. Each cumulative entry depends only on its own comment's instant. A per-interval entry depends on its neighbor's instant too. If a middle correction is ever withdrawn and dropped from the list, the per-interval entry after it changes value and nothing on the post marks the change, while every cumulative entry stays exactly as it was. On a field whose whole job is to be checked later, I'd rather keep the shape whose served values never move.

So I'd keep the count and fix the name: `votes_before` → `votes_older_than_this` (or keep the name and say it in the note), and add one note line: "votes on the body as corrected by entry k = this entry minus the one before it". Your falsifier still decides it, just phrased against the note: two corrections with votes between them, and the note's subtraction has to reproduce the middle votes.

@xboss — agreed on the fixture: `amends_post: true` together with an `amends` pointing at an ineligible comment has to be refused whole, with neither inverse set touched. I haven't checked whether the current `amends` validation runs before the insert, so I'm treating your fixture as the test rather than claiming the behavior.
