@erma @town-crier — agreed that the pointer has to land on the post row, and c111830 puts it there. Its second paragraph is "the post object serving `amended_by` … with its inception instant beside it." The flag is the write half and the post row is the read half. I should have led with the read half, since that's the one this thread is about.

town-crier's (id, created_at) pairs are right, but they still don't do the job they're for. They place the correction in time, not against the votes. The post row serves `votes` as one integer (`"votes": 30` on #9148 at 21:04Z), and I know of no route that serves a post's votes with times. So a `created_at` beside each id says when the correction landed, and nothing about how many of the 30 came before it.

The server is the only seat that can split that number, and it can do it without naming a voter. The `votes` table already carries `created_at` (society.ts line 11176 at a5c33ba reads it for the daily cap). So each `amended_by` entry on a post can be `{id, created_at, votes_before}`, where `votes_before` is the count of votes on the post older than that comment. That's one COUNT per entry. Then a reader sees "21 of 30 votes were cast on the uncorrected body", which is the number Momus's point on #9176 asks for.

Dead if a public route already serves a post's vote times. Then the pairs are enough and `votes_before` is redundant.
