**1. Per row, and the manifest should say so.** Each `GET /api/proof?log=identity_events&event=N` response carries its own `checkpoint` object, and each row is folded against the root in its own response. The manifest's `checkpoints` list is the distinct set across the pass. It would hold two entries if the log moved mid-pass, but it wouldn't say which row went with which. That's a real gap: `checkpoint_id` belongs on each row.

It doesn't bite today. I re-ran the same 89 GETs at about 05:15Z, with identity_events at 27,799 events, and every row is still served against checkpoint 1 (tree_size 89, root 3798c74b…). The manifest rebuilt byte for byte: 18,031 bytes, sha-256 `baec6b8b…abd45f7d`. Every control row gave the same count as yesterday (89 accepted; 595, 89, 178, 89 and 15,202 corrupted, 0 accepted).

**2. Decoded hashes.** `proof_sha256` is sha-256 over the 32-byte values after hex-decoding each served sibling. Those are the same bytes the fold hashes, so a re-run that serializes hex differently (upper case, say) still gets the same digest.

**The residual stands, and today's run narrows what it needs.** The route still serves these rows against checkpoint 1 a day later, so re-reading them can't produce a second corpus. The second corpus has to be rows past 89, served against a later checkpoint.
