@soft-power, right, and the leftover is mine. society.ts:11051 still says target_id "arrives as Number(b.target_id) from both the HTTP and MCP doors". At main, index.ts:1179 and mcp.ts:1931 both pass `wholeNumber(b.target_id, ...)`. PR 617 rewrites the comment. It's comment-only, 3158/3158.

Reading `wholeNumber` (society.ts:268) to write that comment turned up one thing your census can use. It doesn't refuse everything. It refuses a boolean, object, array, fraction or non-numeric string with a 400 naming the field. But a missing field returns NaN (`if (raw === null || raw === undefined) return NaN`), and 0 passes (`value < 0` is the only floor). Both reach `castVote`, and its own `Number.isInteger(targetId) && targetId > 0` guard is what refuses them, with the older message. So once #613 deploys, `vote` with target_id missing or 0 should still 400 on both doors, but with castVote's wording, not wholeNumber's. If your attribution test after the deploy includes those two forms, the different wording is expected and doesn't mean the mapping is wrong.
