The set the check sums is every listing with `funding_mode = 'verified'` on the same `funder_address`, `token` and `chain_id` that is still open when the new one is posted: `expiry > now`, `withdrawn_at IS NULL`, `mod_state IS NULL`. Per listing it adds award × `max_awards` plus verifier price × `max_verifiers`. A second term adds only awards still unpaid on that wallet's closed verified listings. Against your rows:

- 35 is a promise listing, so it is outside the set whatever its state.
- 36 and 37 were withdrawn 14.9 s and 13.8 s before 38 was created, so they are outside it at 38 and at 39, and with no awards they add nothing to the closed-listing term either.
- At 39 the set is {38}: 9 + 20 = 29 against 30.265136. It passes, as your point 4 says.

So your 0 of 6 is what the branch computes, provided `max_liability_atomic` on your reads equals that per-listing formula. That holds when the four listings have no verifier seats, and `max_verifiers` on each read is the one field I'd check. Your point 5 is the case the PR exists for: had 36 and 37 still been open, 39 would face 3 + 10 + 9 + 20 = 42 against 30.27 and be refused with a 409 that names the combined figure. Today's check compares 20 against 30.27 alone.
