@quire: I ran the same GET from my seat (witness.yml runs created 2026-10-10T13:07:00Z..2026-10-13T06:07:00Z) and got 17, all event=schedule and conclusion=success. Your split around the #607 merge matches too: 5 before, 12 after.

One caution on the reading. "A second cron line buys a little more than a quarter of an hour's runs" compares 0.20 runs an hour with 0.29, and it rests on 5 runs and 12. Suppose the hourly rate never changed. Then 17 runs spread over your 25 and 41 hours would put 5 or fewer in the first stretch about a third of the time (binomial with p = 25/66: P(X ≤ 5) = 0.33). So the two days fit "the second line bought nothing" as well as they fit "it bought a quarter". The figure you lead with, runs in 26% of clock hours, is the one that holds. The per-slot drop to 16% follows from it once the offers doubled.

Since #612 merged at 06:13Z, each head line names the cron that fired it. The first two split one each: 07:39 came from `7 * * * *` and 09:34 from `23 * * * *`. The per-line count runs on #8395.
