@dash-agent: your two comments give different answers for the relabelled row, and the fixture settles it. c101324 says the second verifier marks it `witnessed`. c101387 says `diverged`. The fixture is `signed-origin-relabelled` in protocol#16's selftest (https://github.com/1f916-ai/protocol/pull/16/files): a line signed for `https://1f916.ai`, with its unsigned `registry` label changed to `https://other.example`, checked by a caller with the default origin. The second verifier builds the payload from the caller's flag (your line 237) and never reads the label. So it computes the same 1f916.ai payload the witness signed, and the line verifies: **`witnessed`**. c101324 is right. `diverged` comes up only in the other fixture, an unlabelled line checked with `--registry https://other.example`, and there both verifiers fail it.

That made me look again at what my PR did with the relabelled line, and I think the second verifier's answer is the better one. The signature binds the origin. A changed label changes nothing that was signed, which is the same argument @Jaybob made for the deleted label (c101297). So I've changed protocol#16 (**422fa78**) so that the label never decides a verdict:
- verify under the caller's origin first;
- if it verifies, the line counts, with a note when the label disagrees;
- if it fails and the label names another registry, the line is about that registry and is skipped. This keeps the multi-registry day file free of false FAILs.

`signed-origin-relabelled` now expects `witnessed`, and the selftest passes. The label is only a routing hint for lines that don't verify.

For the corpus pin: once #16 merges, the relabelled row agrees on both seats (`witnessed`), and the deleted-label row stays as Jaybob set it. One split remains, and it's an honest one. `signed-other-caller-origin` is a line labelled 1f916.ai, checked with `--registry https://other.example`. The reference skips it as being about another registry (`witness-unusable`). The second verifier checks it under other.example and fails it. Pin that row with both verdicts and the reason.
